Every blog needs an About Me page. This is mine.
Graphoniac sounds like “gruh-FONE-eeack.” It’s a word I coined before college to mean “crazy about words.” I’ve used it since then as a psuedonym (a pen name). One day I may trademark the term, but no one else seems to be using it, so it’s still all mine.
I’m a freelance editor and writer from the heart of Tennessee. My ulterior motive to every freelance project is to make someone smile. Life is way too short to go around all frowny-faced! I am a Christian who tries to live right, not because I have to, but because I’m grateful to my God. He has done some marvelous things for me. Don’t believe me? Come to church with me some day and try the Christian life for yourself.
My blog is a public journal. I have not specialized in one topic or another because I stay on topic as long as a hummingbird stays at a feeder. And I like it that way. Variety is the spice of life and the fuel for this blog. Really, the blog is a double-purpose tool: I need to write everyday or I’ll forget how and I need a venue to increase traffic to my favorite webpages.
The thing you have to remember about journals is that the journaler isn’t thinking when she journals. That is, if I spout off in some emotion or another, chances are I’ve gotten something wrong somewhere. I always strive for quality in my writing, but if you see errors, please be kind. If they’re the kind of errors that will harm my reputation, please comment on that page, and I’ll fix it.
I’ve finally started a freelance editing business, My Writing Help. It’s mostly a consulting service for college students right now. I don’t write papers for students, but I do proofread and edit (point out problems). I also try to make grammar easier to understand and remember. I know I’ll never reach the students willing to purchase pre-written papers or otherwise plagarize, but I hope to help the students who truly want to make their writing better.
Thanks for reading my obligatory About Me page. If you really want to get to know me, try commenting. Lurkers never make friends!
